If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I've been doing some zero waste sewing recently.
I save all my fabric offcuts and each time I come to start a project, I check the stash for supplies. A pile had been growing that were too small for anything I wanted to make for the shop but the prints were too lovely to sit there waiting so I decided to piece them together to make some useable lengths. My hope was that the seams and mismatched prints would have an interesting appeal when they were sewn into an item and of course you know how I love making quirky bags that are totally one of a kind!
Obviously each of the pieced bags took much longer than if I had used single pieces of fabric but I am so pleased with the effect and knowing there's zero waste is really satisfying.
Deciding which fabrics to place next to each other was really enjoyable and I think the finished bags turned out even better than I'd hoped. A few of them sold straight away before I could list them in the shop so if you don't already - follow Max & Rosie on Instagram so you can be the first to hear about any ultra limited edition makes!
There are a few left which I've added to the shop so have a look if you'd like one and as always, if you have any questions or comments you can get in touch with me here.
Thanks for visiting, back soon!
Frances
