If, like me you've got a house plant sitting in an ugly plastic pot why not sew a fabric pot cover for it?
This one was made using fabric scraps and some leftover bias binding from my Christmas stockings. I think it looks really festive and a huge improvement! The same method can be used to make any size fabric pot, I've got another one which sits on my desk to keep my small sewing tools organised.
If you'd like to have a go yourself I've done a step by step tutorial which you'll find for free on the Design Matters website.
It's a fun, quick make perfect for stash busting fabric scraps and would be a lovely gift for a friend this Christmas. I hope you'll enjoy having a go! If you're looking for another handmade gift idea do have a look at my recent free tutorial for Stitch and Flip Coasters. It's another easy project that uses supplies you'll have in your stash to make a unique handmade present.
Happy sewing!
